ABOUT US
After a long period running a rafting and kayaking company in a small village in the Pyrenees, in 2007 we founded aloKayak in Donostia. On the one hand was a return to our beginnings in the Bay of La Concha and on the other an opportunity to apply the experience accumulated in active tourism.
We grew up in Donostia and this is where our love of kayaking came about. We know that it is a privileged environment and we like to share it with all who come to us, showing them the most hidden corners of the bay. Our location in the same beach of Ondarreta is ideal to know this incredible environment.
From the beginning we have prioritized kayak and sup activities in La Concha bay and we try to make your visit as pleasant as possible. We have a privileged situation in front of the island of Santa Clara. We are a small center that tries to serve you in your needs with a close treatment and a material in optimal conditions. Because we want your experience to be the best you remember of your stay in Donostia.
RAMON ETXANIZ
He was born in Donostia and soon became interested in water sports. At age 14 he took a kayak course at the Atss club and since then he has not stopped practicing at the competition level, teaching courses and organizing activities. It was the attraction to the sea and nature that seduced him and later led him to leave engineering studies to devote himself exclusively to what he liked. Over the years he continues to feel that call and tries to transmit it through aloKAYAK. At the level of competition he was part of the national team participating in the World 87 downhill and the World Cup and Slalom World 89. From that year on, together with some friends, he founded a rafting company in the Pyrenees where he was the front Until 2007 when he entered aloKAYAK. During all these years has been part of kayak expeditions to places like Morocco, Uganda, New Zealand, Chile, the United States or Nepal to where he returns every year. When you come to Donostia you surely find him paddling in the bay.
AMAIA EGUREN
Amaia is the alma mater of aloKAYAK. She is the founder and the one in charge of managing the day to day so that everything is perfectly organized and you can enjoy our activities. Thanks to his hobby of travel he has been able to observe how different types of companies were organized in different countries. All this together with his experience running a rafting company in the Pyrenees has helped him to create a center where the personal treatment is honored without forgetting the professionalism. Amaia is fond of the sea and activities in nature but she likes to enjoy the more playful or recreational side and whenever she can try to look for special places either far or near home. And it happens to him like Ismael the protagonist of Moby Dick that if on the street enter the desire to "methodically demolish the hats of passers-by," then, knows that the time has come to go on a trip.
ALBERTO QUEMADA (TXEROKI)
Who doesn't know Txeroki! The oldest member of the Alokayak team. His entire life is linked to water, he has been a slalom coach at Atletiko San Sebastián, a pioneer in rafting in the Pyrenees and a permanent figure on Zurriola beach with his skisurfing. We guarantee that you will not get bored with him, he always has some anecdote to tell.
MANU HERNáNDEZ
The youngest of Alokayak. He has grown up climbing alokayak pallets. At 5 years old, if you were careless, he would take a kayak and go into the water alone. Friendly, polite, with infinite energy and the desire to live to the fullest, that is Manu.
LAURA ETXANIZ
Laura is the youngest in a saga of canoeists and it was almost inevitable that she did not like kayaking and the sea. From very small her brothers have taken her to paddle and despite having tried surfing, she always returns to the kayak. She is kind, charming and has infinite patience.
